RS485 Modbus RTU on most families (a plug-in module on the UPA panel meters), Modbus TCP on the UPM and PQM meters, and built-in Ethernet on the UEM6C and UEM80 — readings flow into any platform without bespoke gateways.
The UPM209 measures active and reactive energy in all four quadrants (Class 1 active, IEC/EN 62053-21); the UPM309 separates inductive and capacitive apparent energy; the PQM4000 adds harmonics (THD, TDD on the ENH and PLUS versions) at Class A (IEC/EN 61000-4-30).
UPM ENH models record up to 8 MB onboard and the PQM4000 16 GB, so a comms dropout doesn't lose the history.
